Solo and Ensemble
District Solo and Enseble is an opportunity for students to perform a solo with a piano accompianist or a small ensemble for a judge. The competition is in early March with rehearsals starting as early as January. A rating will be given, and if a student receives a "gold" or "silver" rating, they receive a medal. Also, if a student receives a "gold" rating they will have the opportunity to perform again at the state level in Columbia, MO.
With the guidance of the directors, the students are responsible for picking out their music, filling out the solo and ensemble form, and signing up for a rehearsal time after school where the student and their group members will work with a director.
To see what pieces are available, go to the MSHSAA Website and click "PML" and search the lists.
